Mr Jayanthi was admitted to one of the top medical schools of India, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute with high merit. Following his graduation, he moved to the United Kingdom for surgical training. He then obtained Membership & Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He obtained a post-doctoral qualification from research performed at University of Oxford.
Following his doctoral research at Oxford University, he completed All Wales Higher Surgical Training Programme. Mr Jayanthi has done fellowships at world-renowned centres of excellence. He was a Senior Laparoscopic Fellow at ICENI Centre, Colchester. Following this he spent a year at the St James University Hospital, Leeds. He was then completed the much sought after Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.
Mr Jayanthi has been awarded a number of awards. In particular, he was awarded the prestigious David Dunn Travelling Scholarship for 2013 by ALSGBI. He travelled to Japan and India to visit some of the leading surgeons in the world and has learnt a number of innovative techniques, which he practices while treating patients in the UK.
Mr Jayanthi specialises in treatment of hernias, gallstones, heartburn, cancer of oesophagus (gullet) and stomach and weight loss surgery. Mr Jayanthi also specialises in a number of novel endoscopic techniques to treat early cancer and pre-cancerous conditions.
In his free time, Mr Jayanthi likes running, cycling and plays cricket. He has completed an off road 10K run in 2012 & British 10K run 2013 in London, raising funds for the cancer charity Macmillan.
Mr Jayanthi NHS practice is at Broomfield Hospital. His private practice is based at Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford; Spire Hartswood Hospital, Brentwood & Baddow Hospital, Chelmsford.
